Let me start by saying how comfortable this couple is in front of the camera! It was expressed to me that Kiersten may be nervous about her session. Like most girls, she was worried about her hair in the wind, outfits looking right, or feeling anxious and self-conscious in front of the camera. I assured her that her fiancé Sam will be with her 100% of the time and I know several posing tips and tricks to flatter any body shape. I want engagement session to feel like you are spending the afternoon hanging out with your best friend. Relaxed. Happy. Fun. This session was nothing short of that. Kiersten and Sam met over seven years ago in history class at Texas A&M University. They both are history majors and actually had several classes together before they started dating. Fast forward to today Kiersten is from Fort Worth and Sam actually lives in Denton. My hometown! Kiersten wanted a romantic garden feel for the engagement session and I could not think of a better place in the Fort Worth Botanical Gardens. We walked around for two hours and came across several beautiful locations. During our walk, Sam told me how he proposed. His plan was to take Kristen to the Century Tree in College Station. It's a huge Texas A&M tradition that if you propose under the Century tree you will be happy together forever. He ended up proposing under a giant oak tree which is even better, because oak trees are everywhere! It's now a daily reminder of our he proposed. Of course, she said yes and it was a fabulous day! Congratulations Kiersten and Sam. I cannot wait to capture your July wedding.
